And down..

"It's so close to finishing I can almost smell the burnt petrol...... Mmmm!" (Quote...Graham....)
Engine installation, silencer side

Engine, ignition unit and battery; this little lot helped with the CG
The MVVS 1.60 Petrol engine was included in the sale
Graham thinks the previous owner might have got frightened by the high landing speed required.
Graham has, wisely, installed flaps so, hopefully will not need to test the extremes of the WMFC runway...

Cowl fitted; the gun cut-outs were made using short lengths of tube from an old glass fibre landing net pole. The two cockpit mounted guns fire through the cowl and propeller

Model assembled to check the CG...It was just about spot-on..
(The lump of lead, seen previously is not now required....)

Due to the current cold snap, Graham hasn't been able to do any more painting.
He will probably fly it and see how it goes , then do the paintwork when the temperature
is back to normal...

"For the exhaust stacks, I got some 10mm brass tube which I softened by annealing it then it bent easily and flattened nicely, cut to length, bent again to mount on the firewall and voila!.......... exhausts. They look a bit odd in the photo because I have cut back the cowl so I can fit new cowl flaps, the originals were in the wrong place and not quite big enough, the new ones will be made from some lithoplate and glued in place"

The day of the maiden flight..Paintjob still to be done..
